Balram Mahato Foundation x McKinsey.org: OHI for Nonprofits

Empowering Nonprofits through Organizational Health

In October 2025, the Balram Mahato Foundation was officially selected to participate in the OHI for Nonprofits program by McKinsey.org. This collaboration represents a significant step in our journey to strengthen internal systems, leadership effectiveness, and overall organizational resilience.

What is OHI for Nonprofits?

The Organizational Health Index (OHI) is McKinsey’s evidence-based framework that helps organizations measure and improve key dimensions of performance — including leadership, culture, accountability, and innovation.

Through the OHI for Nonprofits initiative, McKinsey provides social impact organizations with tools to:

  • Diagnose their organizational strengths and challenges
  • Benchmark performance against global best practices
  • Build actionable roadmaps for growth and impact

Why It Matters ?

For us, this collaboration isn’t just about analysis — it’s about transformation.
It reflects our foundation’s commitment to transparency, continuous improvement, and world-class governance.

Through the OHI framework, we aim to create an agile, motivated, and accountable team culture that amplifies our social impact.

“Partnering with McKinsey.org through the OHI initiative allows us to align our internal capabilities with our mission — ensuring we deliver meaningful, measurable impact.”
